About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Dalhousie Journal of Interdisciplinary Management is a student-led initiative aimed at publishing Dalhousie graduate student work of the highest quality and significance in all areas of management

Goals:

  • To foster the convergence of ideas within the fields of Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Information Management, and Public Administration
  • To promote collegiality
  • To encourage interdisciplinary communication and research

Peer Review Process

Papers submitted to the Dalhousie Journal of Interdisciplinary Management undergo a peer-review process. An Editorial Board has been established consisting of faculty members and graduate students from the four Schools in Dalhousie‘s Faculty of Management.

The typical flow of an article from the author to publication is as follows:

  1. An author submits an article to the Editorial Chair by electronic mail, OR
An author may be contacted by the Editorial Chair to write or submit an article for consideration.
  2. The Editorial Chair reviews submissions to ensure they meet basic submission guidelines. Any submission not adhering to these guidelines may be returned to the author with a request for more information before the paper can be considered for review.
  3. The Editorial Chair prepares the submissions for blind review by the Editorial Board.
  4. The review process begins as papers are sent by electronic mail to the Editorial Board for review. Each paper is reviewed by one faculty member and one student in the Board. The options are: a) acceptable as is; b) conditionally acceptable with minor revisions as outlined; c) not acceptable as is, needing major revisions as outlined by the reviewers; d) not acceptable, with possible recommendations for other journals.
  5. Comments on the paper are received by the Editorial Chair, who will request any revisions from the author.
  6. Papers are reviewed and copyedited by the Copyediting Committee for final corrections. Authors also review the proof for any final corrections. It should be noted that the Copyediting Committee reserves the right to edit for style, length and format.
