Jason Herbeck is Assistant Professor of French at Boise State University. His research focuses on evolving narrative forms in twentieth and twenty-first century French and Caribbean literatures, and in particular on how these forms relate to expressions and constructions of identity. He has published articles on Maryse Condé, Jacques Roumain, Daniel Maximin and Albert Camus, and, in articles forthcoming, examines the ways in which works by Raphaël Constant and Patrick Chamoiseau diverge from and challenge traditional detective narrative typologies.
