Roland A. Champagne

Roland A. Champagne is Professor Emeritus of French at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Visiting Scholar of Modern Languages and Literatures at Trinity University (San Antonio, Texas) where he gave a course “The Narratives of Annie Ernaux: A Woman in Her Own Time” in Spring 2008. He is a male feminist who is also the author of The Ethics of Reading According to Emmanuel Lévinas, with Gary Kates and Nina Ekstein of The Maiden of Tonnerre: The Vicissitudes of the Chevalier and the Chevalière d‘Eon , and essays on Marguerite Duras, Julia Kristeva, Clara Malraux, Hannah Arendt, and Georges Sand for such journals as The French Review, Sub-stance, and Biography.
