Rosemary Peters is Assistant Professor in the Department of French Studies at Louisiana State University, where she principally teaches nineteenth-century literature, history and culture. Recent publications include articles on authors from Dickens to Du Bellay, Zola, Rimbaud, and Huysmans; and through the diverse lenses of photography, geography, mysticism, life-writing, religious riots and rap. She is currently completing a book on thieves in the nineteenth- century French novel, and planning a project on music, maps and exile.
