Hope Christiansen, Associate Professor of French at the University of Arkansas, received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 1990. Her publications include articles on Crébillon fils, Balzac, Stendhal, Flaubert, Sand, and Colette. She frequently reviews books for French Review and for several years contributed to the Romantic Movement Bibliography. She is currently working on a study of Daniel Stem's Nelida.
