Martin Achard holds a PhD in Philosophy from Laval University, where he teaches as a Regular Member of the Institut d‘Études Anciennes. From 2001 to 2003 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the UPR 76 of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris. He has published on Aristotle and Plotinus, including Épistémologie et pratique de la science chez Aristote (Paris: Klincksieck, 2004), and he is currently serving as the Treasurer- Secretary of the Canadian Society for Neoplatonic Studies. He also has strong interests in Discourse Analysis and Philosophical Linguistics, and is working part-time as a Consultant for software companies in the latter field.
