Declan Lawell

Declan Lawell holds a PhD in philosophy from The Queen‘s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Prior to this, he gained a BA in Latin & Greek and an MA in Scholastic Philosophy. He also holds a degree in theology (STB) from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. His primary area of research is in medieval philosophy and theology, especially the thirteenth century abbot of Vercelli, Thomas Gallus, and the medieval reception of the Pseudo-Dionysius. He is currently preparing the first critical editions of Gallus‘s Explanatio and Glose super Angelica Ierarchia. He is also interested in the areas of metaphysics and the philosophy of religion, and has conducted research on Thomas of Ireland (Thomas de Hibernia), Thomas Aquinas, and Jean-Luc Marion.
