This year’s John D. Stevenson Essay Prize is awarded to David Zhou for his article Re Indalex: The Confluence of Pension, Insolvency and Fiduciary Law. Our second and third place runners up are Emily Hansen and Nicole Power, respectively, for their articles Who is Harmed by Fantasy? A Deliberative and Charter Analysis of Canada's Child Pornography Law and The Problem of False Comparisons: Animal Welfare Discourse and the Anti-Choice Movement.

2L student Jamie Watson wins 'Think Tank 3' prize for best presentation

 

Congratulations to second-year Schulich School of Law student Jamie Watson who is this year's recipient of the Think Tank Student Legal Research Prize for her presentation entitled "Not 'Real Killers': The Restrained Use of the Criminal Law in Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia in Canada."

Grad student Nayha Acharya takes home top prize at 'Think Tank 2'

 
Last Friday, the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies hosted its second annual Think Tank Student Legal Research Workshop. This workshop represents a unique opportunity within Weldon for students to deliver public lectures on their scholarly pursuits, to receive expert feedback and commentary on their research from a professor, and to engage an audience in discussion on a current legal issue.  Those in attendance were treated to high-quality presentations from students at all levels (1-L through Grad) on a variety of legal topics.
