Online Publication of Emergency Department Wait Times – Risks and Benefits

Canadian emergency departments are increasingly publishing live wait time estimates on the Internet in an attempt to reduce ED crowding. We conclude that while there is no evidence that the strategy reduces crowding, theoretical patient safety and legal liability concerns are likely overstated.Downloads
