Janis L. Pallister is a widely known scholar of Renaissance and of francophone literature. She was a speaker at the first international colloquium on Antonine Maillet at the Université de Moncton and has published articles on Anne Hébert, on Antonine Maillet, and on Cajun literature. She has just completed a study of Aimé Césaire (Twayne 1990) and is a reviewer of Vietnamese, Canadian, Caribbean and African francophone and lusophone literature and scholarship for many journals. Janis L. Pallister is Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Romance Languages at Bowling Green State University (Ohio).
