Martine Fernandes is agrégée and doctor of the University of California, Berkeley and Paris IV-Sorbonne. She is Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida, Saint Petersburg. She has published book chapters and articles on Francophone women authors in L'Esprit Créateur, Nouvelles Études Francophones, Expressions Maghrébines, Interculturel/Francophonies among others. Her current research is about immigrant writing and film from Southern Europe, especially Portuguese immigrant writing.
