Thérèse De Raedt is assistant professor of French and Francophone studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Her book manuscript explores the textual and iconographic representations of Africans at the time of the Revolution and in the nineteenth century. She bas recently developed a research interest in "minority" discourse and in comparative cultural approaches to foreigners in French-speaking cultures. She has also studied and written on the French resort company "Club Med" and its intersections with post-colonial and post-holocaust France.
