Susan Harrow is Reader in French at the University of Wales Swansea, UK. Her research interests and publications span the novels of Zola and modern French poetry. Her book The Material, the Real and the Fractured Self: Representation and Subjectivity from Rimbaud to Réda appeared with the University of Toronto Press in 2004. She is currently writing a book on the interrelation of modernity and corporeality in the Rougon-Macquart. She is joint editor of Romance Studies.
