Les romans de Yamen Manai : du désenchantement politique et culturel à la crise écologique

Abstract

This article aims to study Yamen Manai's novels by emphasizing the way that these narratives articulate the global ecological crisis with the political and socioeconomic disenchantment of post-revolutionary Tunisia. The Tunisian author shows how the degradation of nature reflects institutional failures and individual and collective traumatisms. Manai denounces political and social violence and proposes a literary vision that dresses and treats the wounded link between humans and non-humans, thereby reenchanting the connection: here, nature and animals incarnate an empathic relationship with the human, one founded in the ethics of care and in reciprocity.
