Biocentrisme et lisibilité sémiotique du roman africain francophone. Une analyse éco-sémiotique de l’Amas ardent de Yamen Manai
Abstract
Yaman Manaï's novel L'amas ardent may be read as a refutation of human chauvinism, a plea for biological equality and the propaedeutics for an ethical biocentrism. This work brings to light human-bee harmony and shows that the pollenizing instinct, like all living beings, deserves direct moral consideration. This is how Manaï's beekeeper character, like a true ascete, works with his bees and promotes, in fine, biological equality amongst nature's component parts. In the light of ecocritical and semiological approaches, this reflection shows that, through his poetics shaped by biocentrism, the novelist makes the human being sensitive to excessive anthropomorphism and invites humanity to treat other living beings as teleological centres of life.
