Ekaterina R. Alexandrova is an Assistant Professor of French in the Modern and Classical Languages Department at the University of Wyoming. She specializes in late seventeenth and eighteenth-century French literature. Her forthcoming articles include a study of utopian societies in the fiction of Rousseau and Leprince de Beaumont, as well as an essay on the fictional construction of black identity by two writers of partial African descent, Dumas and Pushkin. Her current book project, which investigates how fiction contributed to the changing conception of suicide during the Enlightenment, recently won a grant from the Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research.
