Ioanna Chatzidimitriou holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is currently Visiting Assistant Professor of French at Muhlenberg College. Her work on late nineteenth-century colonial French literature and Decadence has appeared in Cahiers Octave Mirbeau, Dalhousie French Studies, and Nineteenth Century Studies. She is currently working on a manuscript-length project on the uses of silence and translation in fiction by contemporary translingual authors who choose French as their language of literary expression. Her essays on francophone literature have appeared in journals such as Contemporary French and Francophone Studies, Substance, The French Review and MLN among others.
