Abstract

This article focuses the theatrical aspirations of novelist André Schwarz-Bart. Examining a handwritten note on a play which was apparently never finished, this article discovers an alternate history which recycles his predominant themes: what would the world have become “if the Germans had won the War?” Continuing his memorial writing project, the author of The Morning Star (2009) also proves his fascination with religious anthropology, the sciences and OULIPO-inspired writing, which allows him to ask fundamental questions both of a philosophical and sociological nature. Finally, we will also deal with the unacknowledged sources and participative writing.
