Kathleen Perry Long

Associate Professor of French in the Department of Romance Studies at Comell University. She is currently completing a book on hermaphrodites in Renaissance France, and has published a number of articles on that subject, among them: "The Sexual Politics of Alchemy in the Works of Salomon Trismosin and Clovis Hesteau de Nuysement" (1995); "Hermaphrodites Newly Discovered: The Cultural Monsters of Early Modern France" (1996); "Sexual Dissonance: Early Scientific Accounts of Hermaphrodites" (1999).
