Guy F. Imhoff is an Assistant Professor of French at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. His doctoral thesis, at the University of Kansas, focused on the representation of God in the novels of François Mauriac. His main theme of research is to explain how an author, using prose fiction as his main vehicle of thought, is able to introduce the presence of God in a text without destroying the realism of the work. He has published on Mauriac in Romance Quarterly (1991) and the New Zealand Journal of French Studies (1998), and on Hugo in Nineteenth-Century French Studies (2000-2001).
