Author Biography

Marlène Barsoum

Marlene Barsoum is Assistant Professor of French in the Department of Romance Languages at Hunter College (CUNY). Her scholarly interests include the nineteenth century, Egyptian francophone literature and travel literature. She has published articles on Théophile Gautier and Andrée Chedid; two articles on the traveller Ibn Battuta are forthcoming. She is also interested in poetry; some of her poems have appeared in poetry magazines.
