Author Biography

Zhaoding Yang

Zhaoding Yang, after receiving his B.A. in political science from the Normal University of Central China in 1983, studied Western philosophy at the Graduate School of Peking University. Winner of a Chinese Ministry of National Education fellowship, be received his D.E.A. in philosophy from the Université de Strasbourg and was writing a thesis on Alain when he went to the University of Minnesota to study French literature. He has presented papers and published articles on twentieth-century philosophy and literature and is currently completing a doctoral thesis on Michel Tournier. Of his study entitled "Michel Tournier et son refus de retour" the author has said: "Je trouve ces pages remarquablement intelligentes et originales. Sur un sujet qui n'a jamais été abordé à  ma connaissance [Zhaoding Yang apporte] une lumière pénétrante et révélatrice."
