Simon P. Sibelman received his Ph.D. from King's College, University of London, where he focused on narrative theory and the development of the twentieth-century novel in France. His research interests include discourses of identity in French Jewish writings since the Dreyfus Affair, Holocaust literature and explorations of French culpability during the Second World War. His Silence in the Novels of Elie Wiesel appeared in 1995 (St. Martin's Press). Widely published in such journals as the French Review, Twentieth-Century Literature, Literature and Theology, Journal of European Studies and British Journal of Holocaust Education, he is at present completing Circumscribing Swann's Nose: Paradigms of Self-Identity in Franco-Jewish Narrative.
