Nancy Epstein is a doctoral student at Ohio State University, where she has taught French language and history. She received a B.Sc. in mathematical ecology and an M.A. in French from Ohio State University, where she was a Battelle Scholar (1984-89). She is writing her dissertation on the treatment of environmental randomness by La Fontaine, Voltaire, Baudelaire, and twentieth-century mathematical ecologists and ecofeminists.
