Monique Saigal is Professor of Romance Languages at Pomona College, where she teaches literary analysis, 19th- and 20th-century French literature as well as French studies courses such as "Paris: Myth or Reality" and "Film and Fiction." Her research interests lie with twentieth-century literature and she is the author of numerous articles including "L' opposition maternelle et salut par l'ecriture chez Jeanne Hyvrard," "Le bouche à bouche dans Une mort tres douce de Simone de Beauvoir," "Signéponge de Jacques Derrida: jet séminal et jet sémoitique," "Une interpretation de l'Iris de Suse de Jean Giono." et "Chantal Chawaf, archéologue de l'écriture."
