Author Biography

Pierre H. Dubé

Pierre H. Dubé obtained his M.A. in French at the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He has published extensively in France, Canada and the United States on nineteenth-century French writers. His works include a monograph on Chateaubriand (Past and Present: Chateaubriand' s Les aventures du dernier Abencérage [1989]), a bibliography (Bibliographie de la critique sur François-René de Chateaubriand [1988]), concordances of Pascal's Pensées and Lettres provinciales (with Hugh Davidson) and of the published works of Flaubert (with Charles Carlut and J. R. Dugan), and a textbook on French civilization in North America (Patrimoines [1992], with Paul G. Socken and Ann Dubé). He is a faculty member in the Department of French at the University of Waterloo.
