John T. Naughton is Associate Professor of French at Colgate University. He has published a number of articles and reviews on modem French poetry as well as the book, The Poetics of Yves Bonnefoy. He is the editor of The Act and the Place of Poetry and the translator of Bonnefoy's Ce qui fut sans lumière, which was published in English as In the Shadow's Light. All three books were published by the University of Chicago Press. At present, he is completing a short book on Louis-René des Forêts and a longer work that examines the reinvention of traditional religious categories in modern French poetry.
