Tatiana Greene, Professor Emerita from Barnard College. Born in Paris, she completed her studies of English and law at the University of Brussels, and her Ph.D. at Columbia University. She is the author of Jules Supervielle (1958); four volumes of poetry: Pierres perdues, Transfuges précédé de Pierres perdues, Dire, and Terres; numerous articles including "Femmes poètes francophones du vingtième siècle," essays on Robert Desnos, Blaise Cendrars, Louise de Vilmorin, Racine and Valéry, Verlaine, etc.
