Brian T. Fitch

Brian T. Fitch is University Professor and Larkin Professor of French at Trinity College, University of Toronto, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He is Founding Co-Editor of the journal Texte, Co-Director of Les Editions Paratexte and the author of books on Camus, Malraux, Bernanos, Beckett, Bataille, etc. His latest book, Beckett and Babel: An Investigation into the Status of the Bilingual Work, appeared in 1988 (University of Toronto Press) and he recently completed a book on referentiality in the twentieth-century novel. He is at present working on Blanchot and a bilingual critical edition of Beckett's prose works.
