Seán Band

Seán Band is Professor of French and Head of the School of Languages at Oxford Brookes University. His recent interests relate to post-war French literature and thought. His recent publications include Facina the Other: The Ethics of Emmanuel Levinas (Curzon, 1996), "Outside Presence: Realising the Holocaust in Contemporary French Narratives" (History of the Human Sciences, 1996), and Mapping the Other: Anthropology and Lite rature's Limits (Paragraph, 1995). He is the author of a forthcoming book on Michel Leiris, and is working on a book on Emmanuel Levinas.
