Marie-Sophie Armstrong

Marie-Sophie Armstrong is Associate Professor of French at Lehigh University. She has published on nineteenth and twentieth-century French fictional narratives. She is currently at work on a book-length study exploring Zola's relationship to literary property and Hugo in La fortune des Rougon and Germinal. The present essay, her fifth on Zola's novels, is representative of her current research.
