James S. Williams

James S. Williams is Lecturer in French and Comparative Literature at the University of Kent in Canterbury. He is the author of The Erotics of Passage: Pleasure, Politics, and Form in the Later Work of Marguerite Duras (1997), as well as co-editor of, and contributor to, Gay Signatures: Gay and Lesbian Theory, Fiction and Film in France, 1945-1995 (1998). His critical study of Camus' s La peste is forthcoming in 1999.

Michael Temple

Michael Temple is Lecturer in French at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is the author of The Name of the Poet: Onomastics and Anonymity in the Works of Stephane Mallarmé (1995), and editor of Meetings with Mallarmé in Contemporary French Culture (1998). He is currently writing a book on Jean Vigo.
