Atsushi Sumi holds a PhD in Philosophy from Loyola
University Chicago, and is at present Lecturer of General Education at
Hanazono University in Kyoto, Japan. He is the author of many articles on
Plato, Whitehead and Plotinus, this last being his main focus of attention.
He is also working on reconstruction of Neoplatonic metaphysics with the
prospect of integrating it with religious studies and transpersonal
psychology to support the radical unity of the world‘s religions. He can be
