D. Gregory MacIsaac is Assistant Professor in the College of the Humanities, Carleton University, Ottawa. A graduate of the Dalhousie Classics Department, he holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where he completed a dissertation entitled “The Soul and Discursive Reason in the Philosophy of Proclus” under the supervision of Stephen Gersh. He was recently a chercheur étranger at the École Pratique des Hautes Études/C.N.R.S. in Paris. He has published a series of articles dealing mainly with aspects of Proclus‘ epistemology. His current projects are the revision of his dissertation into a comprehensive study of the Soul in Proclus, and an extended commentary on Plato‘s later dialogues and their relation to the Republic.
