The Philosophy of Apollonius of Tyana: An Attempt at Reconstruction

Carl O‘Brien received his PhD in Classics in 2007 from Trinity College Dublin, supervised by Professor John Dillon. He was previously a Government of Ireland Scholar at TCD and a Research Fellow of the Swiss Federal Government at the University of Fribourg, where he worked under the direction of Professor Dominic O‘Meara. In addition to an MA in Classics from TCD, he holds a postgraduate degree in Ancient Philosophy from Fribourg. He has held teaching posts at Belvedere College S.J. and the Royal Irish Academy. He is currently working on a monograph analysing the development of the Demiurge in the Platonic tradition.
