Through an exploration of the LGBTQ+ community of Padua, Italy, Anna Capretta, Bianca D’Anneo, and Giacomo Polignano examine generational divides and the effects of different social spaces in forming a sense of community, identity, and security. Chandni Sakhrani’s article recounts her life history interview with her mother. She focuses on contested conceptions of arranged marriage and matchmaking in the Indian diaspora. Yuchen Liang explores the 'involution generation' where Chinese students increasingly vie for the same career outcomes of previous generations, while growing numbers of students reject the status quo. Finally, Bridgette Norwood explores the relationship between gender and skateboarding in Halifax, Canada where historically rebellious communities of skateboarders offer a unique safe space for female and non-binary peoples. At the same time, the community is impacted by a deeply rooted history of hyper-masculine identities.
