Teen choice (book) awards : the red maple and white pine program of the ola

Abstract

The Ontario Library Association holds an annual literary competition for Canadian books in which winners are selected by readers. The Red Maple and White Pine awards are chosen by young adults. The OLA Forest of Reading program, as it relates to the young adult components, is outlined here for lessons in young adult librarianship.

Melanie Jasmine Grant, Dalhousie University

Melanie Grant is an MLIS student in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has previously published poetry in several Canadian literary journals. She loves the North Atlantic and finds everything interesting.
