Family Focus: How Family Literacy Day is changing the way we read

Abstract

Founded in 1999, Family Literacy Day has been bringing families closer together while improving their combined literacy skills. Through the combined efforts of various organizations and libraries across Canada, the ability to read is being nurtured in parents and youth alike.

Author Biography

Anna Bustin, Dalhousie University

Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Anna Bustin will be graduating from Dalhousie University‘s MLIS program in May 2011. An avid reader, she has a BA with Honours in English, and will be brining her love of reading and writing to bookstores and libraries in the very near future.
