Author Biography

Nicole Simek

Nicole Simek is Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Whitman College. Specializing in French Caribbean literature, Simek is the author of Eating Well, Reading Well: Maryse Condé and the Ethics of Interpretation (Rodopi, forthcoming) and co-editor of Feasting on Words: Maryse Condé, Cannibalism, and the Caribbean Text (Princeton: PLAS Cuademos 8, 2006). Her wider research interests include trauma theory and sociological approaches to literature.
