Tom Conley is Abbott Lawrence Lowell Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University. He is the author of Film Hieroglyphs: Ruptures in Classical Cinema (1991), The Graphic Unconscious in Early Modern French Writing (1992), The Self-Made Map: Cartographic Writing in Early Modern France (1997), Cartographic Cinema (2006), and numerous articles, translations, and co-edited works.
