An open-access,
student-led journal
This journal is hosted by Dalhousie University which operates in the ancestral, unceded and continually occupied territories of the Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqey, and Peskotomuhkati Peoples. These sovereign nations, along with the Penobscot, are part of a wider alliance known as the Wabanaki Confederacy. Those who live within these territories are collectively bound to understand and respect our collective obligations under the Peace and Friendship Treaties.
Further, we pay respect to all Indigenous people from all nations across Canada, acknowledging traditional knowledge keepers, both young and old and honouring leaders: past, present, and future.
We also recognize the histories, contributions, and legacies of the African Nova Scotian people and communities who have lived on these lands for over 400 years.
