L‘Image comme « pont flottant » vers l‘autre : Reverdy, Réda et l‘émotion poétique

Abstract

This article explores a poetics of emotion that connects us to the real as the other that loves us. While expressing approval for images, Jacques Réda uses them within the context of the world itself continually bursting forth spatially and temporally. Taking into account Reverdy, I explore three poems where Réda highlights ties between world and self. I emphasize discourse within which the world‘s thickness finds its place and blossoms, as well as bridges established to reach the other and frameworks that redefine the image‘s function.

Aaron Prevots est professeur associé à  la Southwestern University (États-Unis). Ses recherches portent sur la poésie française moderne et contemporaine. Il a publié chez Host Publications et aux Éditions VVV des traductions de Jacques Réda (Return to Calm, Europes, Thirteen Songs of Dark Love), de Bernard Vargaftig (As Breathing), et de Jean-Claude Pinson (At the Water‘s Edge). Il est l‘auteur d‘articles sur Rimbaud, Guillevic, Bonnefoy, Jaccottet, Réda, et Jean-Paul Michel, d‘une étude sur Yves Bonnefoy écrite en collaboration avec Michael Bishop aux Éditions VVV (Yves Bonnefoy‘s La Grande Ourse: Two Essays), et d‘une monographie sur Réda parue chez Brill Rodopi (Jacques Réda: Being There, Almost).
